Handan No.3 Middle School was founded in 1956, it was the emphasis high school in the city. In 1999, under the approval of province education committee ,founding the “Hebei Province Eighth Foreign Language Senior High School”, which is “Hebei Handan Foreign Language School” now , it is assessed as the province model school. The school is located in the middle section of Heping Road in city center, with 67 teaching classes and more than 4000 students at present.
In recent years, under the support of leaders from city education bureau, our school makes a breakthrough in foreign language, establishes new education principles, and builds new management organization. All the teachers and staffs focus on various kinds of work to create the first-rate, promote the goal of education of all-round development, solidify , manage school legally , and strictly manage, it gradually forms teaching atmosphere “preciseness, diligence, exploration and creation”, and teaching atmosphere “diligence, erudition and observing discipline”. Senior high school exam and college entrance exam make a stride every year, and is ranked as advanced school among the whole city. In 2002, the first foreign language graduation passed college entrance exam with a rate of 96.2%， foreign language with undergraduate exam passing rate 96.5% in 2003，the second-ranked undergraduate increased 195% compared with last year, is the first among the whole city, the second for the emphase undergraduate college among the whole city, our present graduating student– Yu Yanxin, who ranks the second among Hebei province liberal art exam, and the first in whole city, now studies in Beijing University, the total scores of 2 students are among the toppest 10 students, 1 students get full marks in integrated science, one scored 261 in integrated liberal art ( they are the first for one subject among the whole city). Among 60 students in foreign class no.2 class ,41 students pass the exam of second-ranked undergraduate college exam, passing rate is nearly 70%.School continually wining “ Excellence Price” in city and is award the civilized school in the city, model school in moral education, advanced unit in integrated management, advanced unit in sports ,family plan, and labor union, gets fine credit in society ,become the focus of others attention , and now is struggling for establishing the famous school in province.
The school has sophisticated instruments and fine environment, with 12 laboratory with high-class instruments, 3 computer rooms, modern library with more than 60,000 books , 7 reading rooms for newspaper and magazine, students multimedia reading room, class-preparing rooms for teachers, science and technical reporting hall, astronomical observatory, music classroom, art classroom ,etc. . In the near future, school will finish building of modern gymnasium, student apartments, etc. The modern instrument and beautiful environment create the fine studying and growing atmosphere for students and teachers.
The First-Class Teaching Conditions
Teaching buildings for high school and senior high school have 60 standard classrooms, 5 small classroom for english, has broadband internet and VOD on-demand instrument, experiment building after modification possesses 12 laboratory with high-class instruments, 3 computer rooms, modern library with more than 60,000 books in composite building , 7 reading rooms for newspaper and magazine, students multimedia reading room, class-preparing rooms for teachers, science and technical reporting hall, astronomical observatory, music classroom, art classroom ,etc. . it equips 410 computers for students and teachers, every teacher has one computer, and it connects with the former school net, internet realizes broadband connect. Phase 2 project under construction will finish the building of modern gymnasium, student apartments, etc.. Students can fully enjoy advanced teaching methods and it creates condition to expand their eyeshot with Modern equipment . At present , the red wall brick and green lawn in foreign language school , high pine and beautiful flowers match together, it creates a fine learning environment for students, and becomes the beautiful scene line in our city and road.
High-Quality Graduation
In 2003, the rate of undergraduate college exam reaches 96.5%， among them, the rate of second-level undergraduate college exam is 50%, one student respectively in science and liberal art enter the top 10 students in Handan, two students’ scores more than 600. in 2004, the total scores of two students enters the top 10 students in Handan city, Yu Yanxin won the first in whole city( the second in the province),one students respectively won the first in integrated science and integrated liberal art in the whole city. In recent years, many students pass the exam of national famous university, such as Beijing University, Chinese People University, Center Art College ,Beijing Teaching University, Nankai University, Zhejiang University, Center Financial University, Beijing Aviation University, etc.. In recent 3 years, school develops 16 students party members, when they enter university, they become the top students in various emphasis universities.

Reasonable teachers’ structure, complete subject and famous teacher .School now has 243 teachers and staffs ,among them ,4 special-level teachers, 63 senior teachers , 82 first-level teachers ; 5 cadreman teachers in nation and province, 10 famous teachers in handan city, 9 teachers winning “ the top 10 teaching master”. In the assessment of excellent class in 2003 to 2004, 16 teachers in our school won the first prize. In the five years after establishing foreign language school, all the students and teachers struggle for the same goal, work energetically and explore, on the bases of putting equal emphasis on science and liberal art , with outstanding foreign language feather, it won the wider prize from the society. Firstly, it executes that experts manage school, since 2000, school invites famous experts and professors from famous universities, such as Beijing Teaching university , Hebei Teaching University, to be as honor president ,visiting professor , to guild the teaching and reaching work of whole school. Experts use their abundant profession knowledge, and completely new education principles to train the teachers, it improves the teaching and realizing ability of whole teachers. Secondly, it employs teachers from foreign country to teach. In 2001, hebei province senior high school is the first to get the qualification to employing long- term teachers from foreign country. In 2001, the rate of undergraduate college exam reached 80.5%，in national foreign language competition, two students in our school win the national first prize, 3 students won the national second prize. In 2002, in the primary school and high school art performing competition, 2 won the first prize ,one won the second prize.
